MyGovIndia Thread Highlights Achievements of ‘Nari Shakti’

The Prime Minister also shared a thread posted by MyGovIndia, which highlighted the growing impact of women across different sectors and celebrated the achievements of ‘Nari Shakti’.

The post emphasised how women are contributing to a ‘New India’ through leadership in fields such as defence, startups, science, governance and social development.

In the defence sector, the government noted that women are increasingly taking on key roles in the armed forces. It highlighted developments such as girls preparing to join the armed forces through Sainik Schools and the first batch of women graduating from the National Defence Academy.

The post also referred to milestones such as Shivangi Singh becoming India’s first woman Rafale fighter pilot, and pointed to the significant rise in the number of women officers in the armed forces.

Women entrepreneurs are also making notable strides in India’s startup ecosystem, the government said, citing initiatives such as Startup India and Stand Up India that support women-led businesses.

According to the post, nearly half of India’s startups now have women directors. Six out of ten loans under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana have been extended to women entrepreneurs.

Women-cofounded technology startups raised about $1.1 billion in 2025.

The thread also highlighted women’s achievements in science and technology. It also noted their growing role in strengthening grassroots democracy and community development.

On the health front, the government said maternal health outcomes have improved significantly.

Nearly 90 per cent of childbirths now take place in healthcare facilities. More than 7.16 crore checkups have also helped detect high-risk pregnancies.

Maternity benefits have reached nearly 8.7 crore mothers.

The post also noted achievements in sports. It mentioned India’s maiden victory in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025 and the country’s triumph in the inaugural Blind Women’s T20 World Cup the same year.

These accomplishments highlight the growing success of women athletes on the global stage.
