Indore’s Grand Journalism Festival Concludes With Major Participation From Bharat Express

The 18th Indian Journalism Festival concluded in Indore on Sunday after three days of discussions involving journalists, media professionals and experts from across India and abroad.

Organised by the State Press Club with significant participation from Bharat Express, the festival brought together journalists from several Indian states as well as Dhaka and Kathmandu, giving the event an international dimension.

The festival featured 72 sessions covering emerging challenges and developments across journalism and related fields.

‘Gen-Z’ served as the central theme, with discussions examining the impact of the younger generation on media, politics, elections, education and Artificial Intelligence.

Sudesh Tiwari, convenor of the festival and Group Editor of Bharat Express, said the event provides a platform for detailed discussions on the evolving challenges and possibilities within journalism.

He also highlighted the role of credible mainstream media in countering misinformation and confusion created through the rapid spread of content on social media.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar attended the concluding session as the chief guest and praised Indore’s contribution to art, literature, music and journalism.

He stressed the importance of the press in protecting and strengthening democratic institutions.

Speaking about Gen-Z, Tomar suggested that the younger generation should be called ‘Tarun Bharat’, highlighting the contribution of India’s youth to nation-building.

State Press Club President Praveen Kumar Khariwal praised Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai for his guidance and contribution to the successful organisation of the festival.

The event also provided senior journalists with insights into emerging technologies while giving young media professionals an opportunity to learn directly from experienced journalists.

The festival concluded with discussions on the changing media environment and the need for journalism to adapt to technological and generational shifts.
