Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underlined India’s growing achievements in the semiconductor sector, a day before inaugurating ‘Semicon India-2025’.
The conference, scheduled for 10 AM on 2 September at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, will spotlight semiconductor fabs, advanced packaging, artificial intelligence, research, investment, and efforts to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Earlier on Monday, PM Modi posted on X, “At 10 AM tomorrow, 2nd September, will inaugurate Semicon India – 2025, an important platform that brings together leading stakeholders from the world of semiconductors. This is a sector in which India’s recent strides have been remarkable. The Conference will focus on key themes like Semiconductor Fabs, Advanced Packaging, Artificial Intelligence, research and investment.”
The three-day forum will emphasise building a strong, resilient and sustainable semiconductor industry in the country.
Sessions will cover updates on the Semicon India Programme, projects on semiconductor fabrication and advanced packaging, infrastructure readiness, smart manufacturing, research and development innovations, artificial intelligence, as well as investment opportunities and state-level policy initiatives.
The agenda also includes discussions on the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, the rise of India’s start-up base, prospects for global partnerships, and a forward-looking roadmap for the sector.
More than 20,750 participants are expected, with over 2,500 international delegates from 48 nations, 150 speakers, including more than 50 global leaders, and 350-plus exhibitors.
Highlights will feature six-country round-table discussions, country pavilions, and dedicated zones for workforce development and start-ups.
Semicon events, hosted internationally, serve as platforms to showcase technological progress in semiconductors and promote national policies aimed at strengthening industry ecosystems.
