General Dwivedi emphasized the need to promote Atmanirbharta, achieve self-reliance in indigenization, and support Indian defense industries. The forum provided an opportunity for the top brass to brainstorm on strategic issues and set the direction for the Indian Army’s transformation over the next two decades.

The senior leadership articulated the Indian Army’s Vision 2047, aiming to transform into a modern, agile, adaptive, technology-enabled, and self-reliant future-ready force. The meeting discussed various broad goals, including theaterisation, reorganisation, and realignment of command boundaries, as well as infrastructure development and enhancing multi-domain operational capabilities.

Other key discussion points included capability development, logistics, ammunition infrastructure, automation, and networking of systems. Actions to enhance jointness and integration in armed forces were also discussed, along with human resource development initiatives to improve personnel quality and effectiveness.

The meeting will continue on August 20, with the aim of setting a clear direction for the Indian Army’s transformation and aligning with the government’s vision for 2047.
