India Resolutely Facing Energy Challenges Amid West Asia Crisis: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that India is ‘resolutely facing’ the global energy challenges triggered by the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Speaking during the 132nd episode of Mann Ki Baat, he highlighted the impact of geopolitical tensions on fuel supply and stressed the importance of unity in navigating the situation.

Reflecting on recent global developments, the Prime Minister noted that expectations of steady progress after the COVID-19 crisis were disrupted by continuing conflicts in different parts of the world.

He pointed out that the situation in West Asia, a key hub for global energy resources, has contributed to a growing petrol and diesel shortage worldwide.

He expressed gratitude to Gulf nations for ensuring the safety and well-being of over one crore Indians living and working in the region.

Acknowledging the concerns of families connected to these areas, he praised the support extended by these countries during challenging times.

The Prime Minister emphasised that India’s strong foreign relations and preparedness over the past decade have enabled it to effectively manage the evolving crisis.

He described the current situation as challenging but manageable through coordinated efforts and international cooperation.

Urging citizens to remain cautious, he advised against politicising the issue and warned about the dangers of misinformation.

He called on people to rely only on official updates and avoid rumours that could harm national interests.

Expressing confidence in the nation’s resilience, the Prime Minister said that, just as India overcame previous crises through collective effort, it would successfully navigate the present challenges as well, reinforcing the spirit of unity and responsibility among its citizens.
