India Mourns Loss Of Indian National In Kuwait Strike

The Embassy of India in Kuwait on Monday expressed deep condolences over the death of an Indian national in an attack on a desalination facility, assuring continued support to those affected.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the mission conveyed its sympathies and confirmed that it is closely coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities to provide all possible assistance.

The fatality occurred after a strike carried out by Iran targeted a power and water desalination facility in Kuwait early on Monday, according to official sources.

The incident has raised the number of Indian nationals killed in the ongoing West Asia conflict to at least eight.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water confirmed the attack, stating that it caused extensive damage to a service building and condemning it as an act of aggression. It also confirmed that the deceased worker was of Indian nationality.

Authorities deployed emergency and technical teams promptly to manage the situation, contain the damage, and ensure operations continued without major disruption.

Officials reiterated that safeguarding electricity and water infrastructure remains a priority, with efforts underway to prevent further risks and maintain essential services.

The latest casualty follows a recent incident in the United Arab Emirates, where an Indian national died after debris from an intercepted missile struck him in Abu Dhabi.

The Indian Embassy had assured full support at the time.

Officials earlier confirmed seven Indian deaths and one missing; Monday’s incident has raised the toll further.

The conflict, now in its fifth week, began after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, followed by Iranian retaliatory drone and missile attacks across the region.
