INDIA Bloc Marches To Supreme Court; Demands Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation Over ‘Vote Theft’ Allegations

INDIA bloc leaders marched towards the Supreme Court on Monday under heavy security. Delhi Police erected barricades along the route. The opposition sought legal intervention to protect democratic and constitutional rights.

The leaders demanded Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over allegations of ‘vote theft’ and electoral irregularities.

Congress MP Manish Tewari said the opposition planned to submit a representation to the Supreme Court. “We want to submit a representation to the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Let’s see where it goes from here,” he told reporters.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said the campaign began when Rahul Gandhi raised concerns about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) at Indira Gandhi Bhawan. He called the process fraudulent and misleading. He said students, organisations and political parties had joined the campaign.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi alleged that the BJP feared losing power. “The BJP is scared. They know that power will not remain with them for much longer,” he said.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh demanded the CEC’s resignation. “Vote theft; Gyanesh Kumar must resign,” he said.

AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj said the protesters would head towards Jantar Mantar and see whether police allowed them to proceed. He asserted their right to express their views.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said his party launched its campaign against the SIR exercise in Bihar. He accused the Election Commission of acting as a ‘complete puppet’ of the BJP. He alleged electoral irregularities were undermining democracy.

“Democracy is under attack, and its opponents are undermining it. How can we remain silent?” Yadav said.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi left the Constitution Club of India by bus. Other INDIA bloc leaders joined the protest march.
