INDIA Bloc Leaders to Rally Against Arvind Kejriwal’s Arrest; Know Who All Are Going To Be There

In a show of solidarity against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy scam, leaders of the INDIA bloc are set to hold a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, is currently in custody until April 1. The rally aims to protest against his arrest and address various other issues.

AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, is expected to attend the INDIA Alliance rally alongside other leaders. Hoardings and posters featuring leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have been erected at Ramlila Maidan ahead of the ‘maha rally’.

Security arrangements for the event have been meticulously planned, with DCP Central M Harshvardhan assuring measures to maintain law and order and ensure smooth traffic flow. The organisers have agreed to comply with specified terms and conditions to uphold public safety. The rally is permitted until 2 p.m., with an estimated gathering of 20,000 attendees, as indicated by the organisers.

AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak emphasized the rally’s objective to assert that the nation should operate in accordance with the Constitution, not by what he referred to as the ‘Vasooli gang’. Pathak criticized the alleged misuse of central agencies to target dissenting voices and promote an authoritarian agenda.

Punjab Minister and AAP leader Balbir Singh condemned the BJP-led central government for arresting Kejriwal while accusing corrupt individuals of aligning with the BJP, juxtaposed with the incarceration of honest individuals. Singh underscored the rally’s significance in safeguarding democracy and the Constitution.

Responding to criticisms from Uttar Pradesh BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary, who highlighted internal conflicts within the INDIA bloc, AAP leaders Gopal Rai and Dilip Pandey reaffirmed preparations for the ‘maha rally’. Rai outlined the diverse participation expected, with leaders from across India set to attend, including prominent figures from Congress, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and various left parties.

Overall, the rally signifies a unified stance against perceived injustices and authoritarian tendencies, with leaders converging to advocate for democratic principles and express solidarity with Kejriwal.
