In Rajasthan, Amit Shah barely makes it out before his “chariot” hits a power cord

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, had a close call on Tuesday when the “rath” he was riding in struck an electrical line in Nagaur, Rajasthan.

The event happened when Shah’s cavalcade was traveling from Bidiyad village to Parbatsar to give a speech at an electoral rally. His ‘rath’ (specially constructed vehicle) struck a power line in Parbatsar while driving along a lane with residences and shops on both sides. This caused a spark to ignite and the wire to break.

Online footage of the event has also surfaced.

There will be an investigation into the incident, according to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The electricity was switched off and the other cars following the Shah’s “rath” came to a stop right away. Shah was put in a different car and driven to Parbatsar where he spoke to the gathering. Shah spoke at three gatherings in support of the party’s candidates for the assembly elections on November 25 in Kuchaman, Makrana, and Nagaur.

At a news conference in Jaipur, Chief Minister Gehlot informed the reporters that an investigation into the incident will be launched.
