IAF Fighter Jets Conduct Landing Trials On Ganga Expressway In Shahjahanpur

Today, fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) demonstrated their prowess by conducting landing trials on the newly developed airstrip in Jalalabad, located in the Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

The trials highlight the dual-use infrastructure capability of the under-construction Ganga Expressway, which will serve both civilian and defence purposes.

Adani Group Drives Construction Of Ganga Expressway

The Ganga Expressway, spanning 594 kilometres from Meerut to Prayagraj, is rapidly taking shape.

The Adani Group is spearheading the construction of a 464-kilometre stretch between Badaun and Prayagraj.

This includes three key segments:

  • Badaun to Hardoi: 151.7 km
  • Hardoi to Unnao: 155.7 km
  • Unnao to Prayagraj: 157 km

The expressway, currently being developed as a six-lane corridor, has the potential to be expanded to eight lanes. Over 80% of the construction work has already been completed.

Advanced Engineering And Technology At Core

Skilled engineers and technicians are actively delivering this critical infrastructure using advanced machinery and cutting-edge technology.

Developers are constructing the expressway under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model, making it the longest expressway in India to use this implementation framework.

The concession period for the project is 30 years.

An Adani Group spokesperson stated, “This task of constructing India’s longest Ganga Expressway is further proof of Adani Group’s capability and speed of execution in managing complex, world-class infrastructure projects for the country.”
