Late Tuesday night, the Indian Air Force launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In a swift and decisive action, Indian jets destroyed nine terrorist camps using precision rocket strikes.
Following the operation, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval initiated high-level communications with his counterparts in several key countries.
He briefed US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UK NSA Jonathan Powell, Saudi NSA Musaid Al Aiban, UAE NSA Sheikh Tahnoun, UAE National Security Council Secretary General Ali Al Shamsi, and Japanese NSA Masataka Okano.
NSA Doval also contacted Russian NSA Sergei Shoigu, Chinese Foreign Minister and Politburo member Wang Yi, and French President Emmanuel Macron’s diplomatic advisor Emmanuel Bonne.
During these conversations, Doval emphasised that the strikes were precise, non-provocative, and carried out with restraint.
NSA Doval stressed that India does not seek further escalation. However, he made it clear that India is fully prepared to respond decisively if Pakistan chooses to retaliate.
He also assured that India will stay in close contact with its international partners in the days ahead.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated cabinet ministers and praised the Indian Armed Forces during a cabinet meeting held after the operation.
“This was bound to happen; the entire nation was watching us,” PM Modi stated. “This is a proud moment for the country. We are proud of our armed forces.”
In a separate meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi briefed President Droupadi Murmu about the objectives and successful execution of Operation Sindoor, underlining its significance for national security.
