A man from Gurugram was arrested for allegedly killing his wife and attempting to stage it as a suicide. He hanged her body from a ceiling fan in their home in Gurugram’s Indra Colony. Where the police reported the incident on Wednesday.
Satish, from the Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh, had a troubled relationship with his wife Reena and suspected her character. They frequently argued, stated the police.
On June 10, Sector-40 police station received a report of a woman allegedly committing suicide by hanging herself in Indira Colony. Upon arrival, police found the deceased’s husband, Satish Kumar, and their two children. They took the body into custody and began an investigation, finding the circumstances suspicious. Consequently, they contacted the deceased’s family.
On June 11, Reena’s brother, Sudama, informed the police that his sister had been married to Satish for 12 years and lived with him and their children in Indira Colony, Silokhara village. He disclosed that Satish had been abusing his sister since their marriage.
Following this, police interrogated Satish, who eventually confessed to murdering his wife by strangling her due to suspicions about her character. He then attempted to mislead the police by staging her death as a suicide.
“The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway. The accused has confessed to his crime,” stated Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
