A special discussion is being held in parliament’s winter session to mark the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’.
Following this detailed discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday, a special discussion on this historic national song will now take place in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
Parliament is holding this special discussion to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the song, which played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle.
According to reports, the discussion on ‘Vande Mataram’ in the Rajya Sabha will begin at 1 PM on Tuesday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will initiate the discussion on behalf of the BJP.
During this time, Amit Shah will share his views on the historical background of ‘Vande Mataram’. The discussion will conclude with BJP National President JP Nadda, who will highlight the 150-year journey of the national song.
In addition, senior BJP leaders Radhamohan Das Agarwal, K Laxman, Ghanshyam Tiwari, and Satpal Sharma will also share their thoughts.
On Monday, the Lok Sabha held a debate led by PM Modi on ‘Vande Matram’ to mark the 150th anniversary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the discussion at 12 PM, followed by several other leaders who also expressed their views.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi described the discussion on Vande Mataram as a moment of pride.
“We have chosen the path of a collective discussion on this important occasion. It is our good fortune to remember Vande Mataram, the mantra and slogan that energized and inspired the country’s freedom movement and showed the path of sacrifice and penance. It is a matter of pride for us that we are witnessing this moment,” he stated.
PM Modi further added, “This is a period that brings before us countless historical events. This discussion will not only reflect the commitment of the House, but it can also serve as a source of learning for future generations if we utilize it properly. Today, we are experiencing the collective energy of 150 years of Vande Mataram.”
