Union Home Minister Amit Shah described the RSS’s journey as historic, noting that it has shaped leaders and volunteers dedicated to nation-building.
In a post on X, he stated, “From the leaders occupying the highest positions in the country to the grassroots workers, the historic journey of the Sangh’s century has shaped numerous such personalities whose life’s goal has been nation-building.”
Shah cited examples from Indian history where RSS volunteers played critical roles, including the Hyderabad liberation struggle, Goa’s liberation movement, resistance against the Emergency, support to soldiers in wars, opposition to Article 370, and anti-infiltrator efforts in the Northeast.
He emphasised that RSS volunteers have consistently demonstrated sacrifice and dedication, serving in deserts, rugged forests, remote villages, and inaccessible Himalayan peaks.
He also highlighted how the Sangh has united diverse communities, including forest-dwellers, Backward Classes, Dalits, and other marginalised groups, and said that its centenary journey will earn lasting recognition for promoting self-respect and national unity across India.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the RSS’s centenary as ‘an inspiring saga of nation-building’.
In an article shared on X, he highlighted that over the past century, the Sangh has strengthened the nation by instilling values such as character, discipline, unity, and service.
Singh stated that RSS volunteers have always led the front during natural disasters, social crises, and other nation-building initiatives, embodying dedication, organisation, and service.
They have made cultural pride, social harmony, and devotion to the motherland central to their mission.
“I am a volunteer myself and have witnessed the tradition of service and sacrifice up close,” he noted, underlining that the centenary is a call to build a strong, self-reliant India.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Sangh’s disciplined expansion and enduring service to society.
Writing on X, he stated, “A hundred years of the Sangh testify to its disciplined expansion, tireless service, and the nurturing of nation-loving citizens.”
The RSS launched its centenary celebrations on Vijayadashami in Nagpur, commemorating a century of service and nation-building since its establishment in 1925 by Dr KB Hedgewar.
Leaders emphasised that the Sangh’s work continues to inspire volunteers nationwide, fostering patriotism, social responsibility, and disciplined citizenship.
