HM Shah Accuses Rahul Gandhi Of Fleeing As ‘Truth On Infiltrators’ Hits Congress Hard

Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered an unrestrained and combustible critique of the Congress in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, charging Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi with abruptly abandoning the House when confronted with what Shah called the ‘uncomfortable truth’ about infiltration and Congress-era policies.

Shah used the debate on election reforms and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to mount a sweeping ideological and historical offensive against the Opposition.

HM Shah asserted that Gandhi did not leave because of any personal remarks but because the facts on infiltration ‘struck precisely where the Congress feels most vulnerable’.

He argued that successive Congress governments, beginning with Jawaharlal Nehru and continuing under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, institutionalised political permissiveness toward illegal infiltration.

“Why did he run out? I did not address him; I did not name the Congress directly. I spoke about infiltrators and cited the policies of Nehru, Indira and Rajiv Gandhi. He stayed through all that. But the moment the truth itself surfaced, he ran away. He wants to shield infiltrators at all costs,” Shah declared as NDA MPs erupted in applause.

He warned that unchecked infiltration jeopardises India’s demographic stability and risks repeating the catastrophic fractures of the past.

HM Shah said, “We will not allow a second partition. This is not politicking; this is the defence of national security and the safeguarding of our future generations.”

Amit Shah then targeted the Congress’s persistent criticism of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He challenged the very premise of the Opposition’s ideological attacks, asking whether the Constitution barred individuals with RSS leanings from constitutional office.

Personal and Historical References Invoked

HM Shah argued that the RSS’s guiding philosophy prioritises service to the nation and the pursuit of a stronger, more resilient Bharat. He also recalled the political climate of his youth, invoking slogans he had heard as a child in the wake of the Assam agitation.

Drawing from the political battlefield of the last decade, Shah itemised what he called Congress’s repeated missteps: resistance to Article 370 abrogation, CAA, triple talaq abolition, surgical strikes, the Ram Mandir verdict, and now both One Nation One Election and SIR.

He predicted that the party’s strategy would continue to lead to electoral marginalisation in state after state.

HM Shah contrasted Congress’s positions with the Modi government’s development pitch: free ration, LPG connections, tap water, electricity to millions and new infrastructure corridors.

“The people are sovereign. They are granting victory after victory to Narendra Modi, and Congress calls this vote theft. Today’s debate demolished every falsehood they spread about SIR.”

Amid chants of ‘Jai Shri Krishna’ from Treasury benches, Shah concluded that the electorate’s verdict represents ‘the will of Shri Krishna himself’. The House adjourned soon after.
