HM Amit Shah To Launch District Cuisine Drive At Uttar Pradesh Day

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will visit Lucknow on January 24 to attend the Uttar Pradesh Day celebrations as the Chief Guest.

During the event, he will launch a new initiative aimed at promoting the traditional cuisines of every district in the state.

At a programme scheduled at Rashtra Prerna Sthal, Shah will formally unveil the ‘One District One Cuisine’ (ODOC) scheme.

The initiative seeks to identify the unique food traditions of each district and integrate them with quality enhancement, branding strategies, and structured market access.

Officials said the scheme aims to elevate local dishes beyond regional boundaries and position them for national and global recognition.

The Home Minister will also inaugurate the Sardar Patel Industrial Zone Programme during the celebrations.

The programme aligns with the state government’s broader push to strengthen industrial development and create new economic opportunities across Uttar Pradesh.

In addition, Amit Shah will present awards to districts that have delivered strong performance under the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana (CM YUVA).

Boost To Local Economy

The scheme focuses on promoting youth entrepreneurship and employment generation.

He will also confer the Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman for the year 2025-26, recognising individuals and institutions that have contributed significantly to the state’s progress.

Ahead of the Lucknow event, the Union Home Minister addressed the ‘Centenary Year Celebration 2026’ organised by the Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Parivar in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

The programme marked the birth centenary of Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami noted that Amit Shah highlighted the spiritual importance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand during his address.

Shah said that the land carries the spiritual energy of thousands of years of penance and devotion.

He also described Haridwar as a sacred centre where the Saptarishis undertook deep penance and guided humanity towards spiritual awakening.

Referring to the Gayatri Parivar’s centenary, Shah said the completion of one hundred years symbolises social renewal and the expansion of collective consciousness.

The Lucknow programme will blend cultural heritage, economic development, and governance priorities.

It will reinforce Uttar Pradesh’s focus on inclusive growth and identity-driven development.
