HM Amit Shah Praises CISF Role In Anti-Naxal Operations; Says Red Corridor Dream Will Be Crushed

Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday applauded the contribution of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in the nationwide campaign against Maoist insurgency.

He asserted that security forces will decisively dismantle the long-standing dream of a ‘Red Corridor’ stretching from Tirupati Temple to Pashupatinath Temple.

Addressing personnel at the CISF’s 57th Raising Day ceremony in Cuttack, the Home Minister declared that the government has pledged to eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 31, 2026.

He stated that CISF has played a vital operational role in counter-insurgency missions across states such as Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Shah emphasised that numerous complex operations have been conducted during the anti-Maoist campaign.

Security personnel, he said, executed these tasks with determination and courage while fulfilling every operational directive.

Their sustained efforts have brought the country close to achieving the goal of a Naxal-free India.

Industrial Security And Development

The Union Minister also highlighted CISF’s crucial responsibility in protecting strategic industrial establishments nationwide.

He noted that India’s vision of rapid industrial progress requires a specialised force capable of safeguarding critical infrastructure.

According to him, CISF provides the secure environment essential for economic expansion and industrial stability.

Shah further observed that the force has strengthened its capabilities by combining courage, sacrifice and dedication with modern equipment and advanced operational strategies.

These qualities, he said, enable CISF to confront emerging security challenges effectively.

The Home Minister also referred to the broader national goals outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

These include transforming India into a fully developed nation by 2047 and positioning the country among the world’s leading economies.

Shah described CISF as a catalyst in achieving these national objectives.

He added that CISF currently secures 70 airports and 361 critical institutions across India.

The government has also assigned the force the responsibility of protecting all ports and designated it as the nodal agency for drone security.

During the ceremony, Shah laid the foundation stone for three CISF residential complexes in Kamrup, Nashik and Sehore, costing ₹890 crore. He also inaugurated housing facilities at Rajarhat and Delhi.
