Himachal: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra A Key To Success

Himachal: Apple Belt Under Congress Charge

Himachal: Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, did not participate in the campaign for the party that achieved success in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections as he was In the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, so  Priyanka Gandhi Vadra did. With leads in 39 seats, the party is almost certain to become the state’s next administration.

The general secretary of the Congress did better than the BJP in the hill state of Uttar Pradesh, where the government changes every five years, but abjectly failed in Uttar Pradesh.

Priyanka Gandhi attended road shows and spoke at many rallies across the state. Rajeev Shukla, a candidate she chose, was given control of Himachal Pradesh, and he and she micromanaged the campaign as the party entered elections for the first time following the passing of a party stalwart like Virbhadra Singh.

Given that she oversaw her party’s campaign in the state, Priyanka Gandhi, the general secretary of the AICC, is seen as having great significance in her attendance here on the counting day. She is residing in her home in the neighbourhood of Chharabra.

She may be essential to tomorrow’s potential political events in the Congress. CM Jai Ram Thakur has been urged to remain in the state’s capital per the wishes of the party’s top leadership in order to secure Independent support in the event of a splintered mandate.

The BJP has been closely monitoring the 21 rebels out of concern that they may hurt its support base, and it is seeking to use them to help it from another government.

The Congress was in the lead by 38 seats in the preliminary vote count on Thursday. It had 38 seats to its advantage by the time it got to midway. The governing BJP held a 33-seat lead before dropping to a 25-seat lead after losing two seats.

The independent candidates were supported by three of the districts.

All three are independents and BJP rebels: Hoshiyar Singh from Dehra, Hiteshwar Singh from Banjar in Kullu, and Ashish from Hamirpur Sadar, once Prem Kumar Dhumal’s stronghold.
