PRAYAGRAJ: The division bench of Allahabad High Court has refused to allow an adult girlfriend to have a live-in relationship with a minor. The court said that a boy who is dependent on his father cannot take care of his girlfriend.
Passing the above said order Mr.Justice Rahul Chaturvedi and Mr.Justice Mohd. Azhar Hussain Idrisi rejected the petition challenging the FIR of kidnapping on behalf of the adult girlfriend Anchal Rajbhar, resident of Ghazipur, and her minor partner, resident of Azamgarh. Where the father of the petitioner, had filed an FIR of kidnapping against his daughter’s minor lover. The petitioner’s girlfriend had jointly filed a petition demanding cancellation of the FIR.
In the petition it was pleaded that both of them had been living together willingly for a long time. Therefore the FIR against the minor lover should be cancelled. The petitioners are happy with each other. Want to live our life together. They should also be given permission and protection to live together.
The court found in the documents filed by the petitioners that the girlfriend is an adult but the boyfriend is a minor. Expressing surprise, the court said that how can a minor lover fulfill the responsibility of his girlfriend who himself is living his life with the support of his father. The court rejected the petition and refused to cancel the FIR and allow the petitioners to have a live-in relationship.
