In a tragic incident today, a stampede during a satsang in Fullerai village, Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of over 100 devotees and left more than 150 injured. Fullerai village is located 47 kilometers from Hathras city. The accident has drawn expressions of grief from both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. CM Yogi has announced measures for the treatment of the injured and compensation for the families of the deceased.
Following the Parliament session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about the Hathras accident, stating, “I have just spoken to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding the tragic accident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The UP government is engaged in all possible help to all the victims. My condolences are with those who have lost their loved ones in this. Along with this, I wish all the injured a speedy recovery.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the incident. In his statement, he said, “The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in Hathras district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families.” He assured that relief and rescue operations are being conducted on a war footing and that proper treatment will be provided to the injured. Ministers Lakshmi Narayan Chaudhary and Sandeep Singh have been dispatched to the site, and the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the state have been directed to reach the location. Yogi Adityanath has also instructed the formation of a team led by ADG-Agra and Commissioner, Aligarh to investigate the causes of the accident.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit Hathras tomorrow to assess the situation and meet with the victim families. He will be accompanied by Chief Secretary Sanjay Prasad.
CM Yogi has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
