‘Har Ghar Tiranga’: BJP Karnataka Launches Bengaluru March, Vijayendra Targets Congress

The Karnataka branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party launched its ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative in Bengaluru on Monday by holding a march dedicated to the national flag.

The programme seeks to remember the contribution of freedom fighters and encourage people to express their pride in the country.

The procession commenced from a government school located near KC General Hospital.

BJP State President BY Vijayendra, Assembly Opposition Leader R Ashoka, Legislative Council Opposition Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and other party representatives joined the event.

BY Vijayendra said the state-wide campaign was being conducted in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to citizens. He said the initiative would remind people of the sacrifices made during the struggle for Independence.

Vijayendra claimed that the BJP did not need to take lessons in patriotism from the Congress. He further alleged that the Karnataka government had shielded individuals accused of raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at Vidhana Soudha.

BY Vijayendra called on people from different communities to unite and contribute to the goal of building a developed India by 2047.

R Ashoka argued that the Congress associated with India’s freedom movement was fundamentally different from the party operating today. He questioned the criticism directed at the BJP over its participation in the freedom struggle and referred to Mahatma Gandhi’s post-Independence suggestion to dissolve the Congress.

Ashoka urged citizens to respond positively to the Prime Minister’s appeal and actively participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy accused the Congress of undermining national unity and strongly criticised its political approach. He appealed to citizens to maintain a strong sense of patriotism regardless of political statements.

Narayanaswamy also urged households to display the national flag. He called on people to embrace the Tricolour as a symbol of national identity.

BJP Karnataka co-in-charge Sudhakar Reddy praised the Prime Minister’s leadership. He said the abrogation of Article 370 had strengthened patriotic sentiment.

Several BJP leaders, legislators, MLCs, students, doctors, former military personnel and members of the public participated in the Bengaluru march.
