Gulam Ali Khatana Praises PM Modi’s Foreign Policy; Highlights India-UAE Ties

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Er Gulam Ali Khatana praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy for strengthening India’s strategic partnerships and expanding international cooperation, particularly with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Khatana, a member of the India-UAE MPs Friendship Group, said the growing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership reflected PM Modi’s diplomatic vision, which prioritises national interests while promoting mutual respect, economic growth and regional stability. He welcomed continued high-level engagement between the Indian government and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, saying regular interactions had strengthened bilateral cooperation and reinforced both countries’ commitment to shared prosperity.

Khatana highlighted bilateral trade crossing US$100 billion following the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), describing it as a significant achievement of India’s economic diplomacy. He said stronger cooperation in trade, investment, defence, energy, technology, innovation and infrastructure could create opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs, young people and professionals in both countries.

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP said PM Modi’s foreign policy combined strategic autonomy with active global engagement, enabling India to pursue its national priorities while contributing to international peace, stability and development.

Khatana said India supported dialogue to promote Gulf stability, which he described as vital for energy security and global trade. He praised the UAE’s support for the Indian diaspora, crediting its contributions to the Emirates’ development and bilateral ties.

Er Gulam Ali Khatana commended External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s diplomatic efforts and expressed confidence that parliamentary exchanges and closer people-to-people ties would strengthen India-UAE cooperation and promote regional prosperity.
