PM Narendra Modi on Saturday said that measures such as GST simplification and citizen-first infrastructure demonstrate disciplined planning, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensure benefits reach every citizen.
He shared an article written by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to highlight this point.
Hardeep Singh Puri credited PM Modi’s professionalism and work ethic for driving results on the ground.
“My piece on how PM Sh @narendramodi Ji’s inspirational professionalism and impeccable work ethic are making the difference on the ground, and the way his discipline, that turns vision into durable systems, sets the PM apart,” Puri wrote on X.
The minister praised the Prime Minister’s meticulous preparation, noting that he studies every paper and file before meetings and expects the same level of diligence from the system.
“Behind these choices lies a distinctive working style. Discussions are civil but unsparing; competing views are welcomed, drift is not. After hearing the room, he reduces a thick dossier to essential alternatives, assigns responsibility, and names the metric that will decide success,” Puri said.
He added that under PM Modi’s leadership, the best argument prevails, the system rewards preparation, and the government ensures relentless follow-up.
Recently, the Union government introduced a major simplification of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure. The GST Council approved the changes in September 2025, and they took effect on September 22, 2025.
The reform eliminated the 12 per cent and 28 per cent tax slabs, leaving two main slabs of 5 per cent and 18 per cent, along with a special 40 per cent rate for luxury and ‘sin’ goods.
The GST reforms aim to lower prices on everyday items for consumers while easing compliance for businesses and resolving complex issues such as inverted duty structures.
These changes, the government said, reflect its commitment to simplification, fairness, and citizen-first economic planning.
