Governor Anandi Ben Patel Highlights Role Of Mothers & Family Values At Convocation Ceremony

At the 7th convocation of Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel delivered an inspiring message on the importance of family values and education.

Addressing the gathering on Tuesday, she emphasized that society often forgets the crucial role of parents, particularly mothers, in shaping the future of children.

She called for greater respect for mothers, highlighting their pivotal role in education and upbringing.

During her address to the graduating students, the Governor stressed that degrees alone are not enough.

“This degree will only hang on the wall if you do not pair it with good deeds and values,” she said, urging students to contribute positively to society along with their academic achievements.

Government’s Focus On Higher Education & Employment

Governor Patel also touched upon the significant financial investment the government has made in higher education.

She noted that the Government of India has allocated Rs 1.48 lakh crore to the sector, underlining the responsibility of teachers to strive for the highest quality of education, aiming for A++ accreditation for institutions.

She firmly declared that they would accept no excuses in achieving this goal, underscoring the necessity of commitment and accountability for success.

Discussing the recent police recruitment drive in Uttar Pradesh, the Governor pointed out that while 45 lakh candidates applied for 60,000 posts, the state is actively working to create more employment opportunities for the remaining youth.

She also spoke about various schemes initiated by the central government to promote education and employment.

Honors & Achievements

The convocation ceremony saw the awarding of degrees to 15,827 students.

A total of 156 meritorious students were recognized for their outstanding academic performances, with 49 receiving gold medals, 52 silver, and 55 bronze.

Postgraduate student Anjali Giri received the prestigious Chancellor’s Gold Medal among the honorees.

Former ISRO Chairman AS Kiran Kumar, a special guest at the event, encouraged students by sharing stories of India’s rapid progress in science and space exploration.

“When Chandrayaan was approaching the moon, the whole world was watching India,” he remarked, urging students to work collectively to make India a global leader once again.

National Education Policy & Technological Advancements

Special guest, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, discussed the importance of the National Education Policy 2020 and the role of technology in modern education.

“Digital advancements and artificial intelligence are reshaping education, making Uttar Pradesh a hub for learning,” he said.

Yogendra Upadhyay praised the contributions of Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) to the field of education.

Minister of State for Higher Education, Rajni Tiwari, encouraged students to persevere in their pursuit of success.

“Success may not come immediately, but don’t be disheartened. Keep moving forward with determination,” she stated, reciting the motivational lines, “Mann ke haare haar hai, mann ke jeete jeet,” to inspire students to remain focused on their goals.

Inauguration Of Leeladhar Art Exhibition

Following the convocation, Governor Patel, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Allahabad Museum Committee, inaugurated the ‘Leeladhar’ exhibition, featuring miniature art depicting the various childhood leelas of Lord Krishna in Braj.

The exhibition, showcasing these artistic representations, will remain open to visitors and art lovers until 10 December.

The Governor also inaugurated the museum’s solo art exhibition of the month and chaired a review meeting on the museum’s ongoing work.

For security reasons, entry to the museum was restricted to the general public after 12 noon during the Governor’s visit.
