Give BJP A Chance In Punjab Too: Home Minister Shah Urges Voters In Moga Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday appealed to voters in Moga to give the Bharatiya Janata Party one opportunity to govern Punjab.

He addressed a large gathering at the party’s ‘Badlav Rally’ held at Killi Chalan village and projected confidence about the BJP’s prospects in the state.

Wearing a traditional turban, HM Shah said Punjab had already given several chances to rival parties. He referred to the Indian National Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and Aam Aadmi Party.

HM Amit Shah urged voters to now extend a similar opportunity to the BJP, promising meaningful transformation.

Party leaders indicated that the BJP secured nearly 19 per cent of the vote during the 2024 elections.

According to insiders, this performance reflects growing support and signals the party’s ambition to contest the next Assembly polls independently.

HM Shah criticised the current administration in Punjab, accusing it of corruption and ineffective governance.

He said citizens feel disillusioned with the AAP government and desire political change.

The Home Minister said the Bharatiya Janata Party could repeat its electoral success in Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, and Uttarakhand.

HM Shah criticised AAP’s campaign pledges, including promises of 25 lakh jobs, a drug-free Punjab, and a guaranteed minimum support price for crops.

He argued that the government failed to fulfil these assurances. Amit Shah also alleged that the state administration had become an ‘ATM’ for Arvind Kejriwal.

HM Shah claimed that only the BJP could effectively curb narcotics trafficking and revive employment opportunities.

He began his speech with religious and patriotic slogans and paid tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur on the 350th anniversary of his martyrdom.

Home Minister Amit Shah urged voters to support a ‘double-engine government’ led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accelerate development. He said such governance would also help eradicate drug abuse.
