General (Retd) VK Singh Takes Oath As Governor OF Mizoram

General (Retd.) VK Singh took the oath as the Governor of Mizoram in a grand and significant ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Aizawl. The event marked the beginning of his tenure as the state’s constitutional head, with prominent dignitaries, senior officials, and special guests from various sectors in attendance.

General VK Singh, the former Chief of the Indian Army and Union Minister, swore an oath of office and secrecy, administered by the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court (or a designated judge). Following Article 159 of the Indian Constitution, he pledged to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, as well as to perform his duties with integrity and loyalty. To honor him, a guard of honor was presented by the Mizoram Police.
