Gautam Budh Nagar Police Successfully Foil Robbery Attempt, Four Criminals Injured

In a commendable display of efficiency, the Sector-20 Noida Police, along with the SWAT/CRT team of Gautam Budh Nagar, engaged in a tense encounter with a group of robbers on December 29, 2024. The police injured four criminals during the confrontation and recovered significant items linked to their robbery, including cash, illegal firearms, and stolen vehicles.

The action unfolded when the police received information that the robbers involved in an earlier crime in Sector-30, Noida, were heading toward Sector-18, Noida, from DND (Delhi-Noida-Direct) on a stolen motorcycle and a scooter. Promptly acting on the tip-off, the police initiated checks at the DLF trisection. As the criminals approached, they attempted to evade arrest by fleeing into the dark towards the DLF drain.

Upon being surrounded by the police, the criminals—two on the Splendor motorcycle and two on the scooter—opened fire at the officers with the intent to kill. In self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring all four assailants. The injured criminals were immediately apprehended and sent to the hospital for treatment.

Recovered Items And Evidence

The police recovered several crucial items from the criminals’ possession, including:

  • Rs 2.05 lakh in cash, linked to the robbery
  • Stolen Aadhar cards, debit/credit cards, passports, and ration cards
  • A Zomato e-rickshaw, Jupiter scooter, and a stolen Splendor Plus motorcycle
  • Four illegal .315 bore pistols, six empty cartridges, and five live cartridges

The police connected these items to the robbery incident and registered an FIR (First Information Report) under case number 415/2024 at Sector-20 Police Station.

Details Of The Injured Criminals

The four robbers, now identified as:

  1. Anas (20), son of Ayaz, a resident of New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, originally from Araria, Bihar.
  2. Shahnawaz (22), son of Sarfuddin, a resident of Sector 15, Noida, originally from Supaul, Bihar.
  3. Sameer (19), son of Salim, a resident of Sector 16, Noida, originally from Araria, Bihar.
  4. Ejaz Alam (20), son of Mohd. Jameel, a resident of Sector 16, Noida, originally from Araria, Bihar.

These individuals are suspected to have been involved in several previous criminal activities.

Criminal Histories And Prior Offenses

The arrested individuals have been linked to a number of previous criminal cases. Notably:

  • Shahnawaz is also linked to FIR No. 597/2023, involving the Arms Act and theft.
  • Ejaz Alam has a criminal record with multiple FIRs for theft and excise violations, in addition to the current robbery case.

  • Inspector Kailash Nath (Sector-20 Noida)
  • Sub-Inspector Lakhan Singh and Rahul Sharma (Sector-20 Noida)
  • Inspector Satyaveer Singh with the CRT team
  • Sub-Inspector Jitendra Baliyan with the SWAT team
  • Head Constables and Constables from various units of Gautam Budh Nagar Police

The police have expressed their commitment to taking all necessary legal actions against the arrested criminals.

This encounter marks a significant success in the ongoing efforts of Gautam Budh Nagar’s Police Commissionerate to curb criminal activity in the region. The recovery of stolen goods, firearms, and cash underscores the police’s effectiveness in addressing criminal operations and ensuring public safety. Further legal procedures are underway.
