G20 Walkathon: CM Yogi Adityanath
G20: The G20 walkathon is organized in four cities of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The walkathon has emphasized the importance of the G20 conference and created awareness about the same. The event has been flagged-off by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The walkathon has been organized in Agra, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
According to the officials, the walkathon will start from Kalidas Marg in Lucknow and end at KD Singh Babu Stadium. Almost 500 players will participate in it.
Several ministers of the UP government including Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present at the event.
During the event, vehicles were prohibited to enter the Kalidas Marg, Hazratganj Square to Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Golf Square to Civil Hospital Park Road and Valmiki Tiraha to KD Singh Babu Stadium.
Earlier, the district magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Suhas LY said that several people are excited to participate in the ‘run for G20 walkathon’. “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch this run for G20 from Lucknow. We will also join in that. Thousands of people are expected to come,” he added.
Urban Development Minister AK Sharma said that the first meeting of the G20 conference will be held in Agra on February 11-12. Thereafter the conference meetings will be held in Lucknow from February 13. Moreover, 75 districts of the state are advised to work on the beautification of the state. Uttar Pradesh has also started the campaign of UP G-City.
The Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department, Amrit Abhijat, said that the G20 conference organized in India is also being projected as the mother of democracy. The state government is seeing the conference as a big opportunity.
