Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conveyed his warm birthday greetings to Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He lauded Manjhi’s dedication to uplifting the underprivileged and his efforts to strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, a key driver of India’s aspiration to become a Viksit Bharat.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Best wishes to Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi Ji on his birthday. He has distinguished himself by serving the poor and marginalised sections of society. He is making exceptional efforts to strengthen the MSME sector, which is essential to building a Viksit Bharat. Praying for his long and healthy life.”
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X to extend his greetings. He acknowledged Manjhi’s significant role in advancing the nation’s economic growth through his work in the MSME sector.
In addition, several senior leaders and Cabinet colleagues joined in to wish the Minister on his special day.
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar extended birthday wishes to his Cabinet colleague, praying for his good health and long life.
Similarly, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari conveyed his heartfelt greetings, wishing Manjhi good health, long life, and happiness.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also joined the leaders in extending his wishes.
Posting on X, he wrote, “Heartiest birthday greetings to Hon’ble Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi ji! Wishing you a long life and good health!”
Jitan Ram Manjhi, a prominent Dalit leader and founder of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), joined the Union Cabinet in 2024. He currently serves as the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The sector is, however, regarded as vital for job creation and economic growth at the grassroots level.
