From Jain Leaders To Raas Garba: What’s On Amit Shah’s Gujarat Agenda?

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for an 81-foot-tall statue of Lord Shiva at the Shaktipeeth Shri Varadayini Mataji Temple in Rupal, Gandhinagar, on Friday.

The visit includes meetings with Jain religious leaders in Ahmedabad, prayers at the Varadayini Mataji Temple, an evening aarti at the Bahuchar Mata Temple in Mansa and a traditional Raas Garba programme in Kolvada.

According to the schedule, Amit Shah will meet Gachchhadhipati Param Pujya Nar Ratna Surishwar Ji Maharaj at Prerna Tirth in Ahmedabad’s Satellite area at 02:45 PM.

At 03:15 PM, Shah will meet Gachchhadhipati Param Pujya Udayprabha Surishwar Ji Maharaj at Shri Vishwa Jain Sangh in Paldi.

At 06:00 PM, the Union Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Lord Shiva statue and offer prayers at the Varadayini Mataji Temple. He will attend the aarti at Bahuchar Mata Temple in Mansa at 07:30 PM, followed by a Raas Garba programme organised by the Navratri Yuvak Mandal at Shri Ramji Temple in Kolvada at 09:30 PM.

The visit coincides with Navratri, when religious gatherings and traditional garba celebrations take place across Gujarat.

Amit Shah last visited Gujarat on September 27, when he launched railway projects worth Rs 1,472 crore at Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The projects included India’s first LNG-powered train, a WAG-12 locomotive maintenance shed, automatic signalling systems and the indigenous Kavach train protection system on selected routes.
