Four Stars Of Destiny Row: Manoj Naravane Breaks Silence After Publisher Clarification

Former Chief of the Indian Army Manoj Mukund Naravane on Monday reacted to the controversy surrounding his memoir Four Stars of Destiny, responding to a clarification issued by the publisher a day earlier.

Posting on social media, Naravane shared a brief update stating, “This is the status of the book,” a remark widely seen as a response to the publisher’s assertion that the memoir has not yet been published or released in any format.

His post came a day after Penguin Random House India (PRHI) issued an official statement addressing public discourse and media reports about the book.

In its clarification, PRHI said it holds the sole and exclusive publishing rights to Four Stars of Destiny and remains the only authorised entity allowed to publish and distribute the memoir in any form.

The publisher made it explicitly clear that the book has not gone into publication.

According to PRHI, the publisher has not published, distributed, sold, or otherwise made available any copies of the book, in print or digital form.

PRHI further warned that any copies currently in circulation, whether in full or in part, constitute a violation of its copyright. This applies to all formats, including print, digital, PDF, or any other medium, and covers both online and offline platforms.

The publishing house said such circulation amounts to copyright infringement, demanded its immediate stoppage, and said it would pursue all legal remedies against illegal and unauthorised dissemination.

What Happens Next?

Reiterating its commitment to protecting its intellectual property rights, PRHI issued the statement to formally place its position on record and prevent further speculation or misinformation about the book’s status.

Naravane’s response has added a fresh dimension to the ongoing discussion, as attention now shifts to how the matter will progress following the publisher’s clarification and the author’s public reaction.
