The victim’s husband told a news outlet, “I served my country in the Kargil War and was also stationed in Sri Lanka as a member of the Indian Peace Keeping Force. I safeguarded the nation, but I regret not being able to do the same for my house, my wife, and my peasant neighbours once I retired. I feel down and melancholy.
The victim’s husband claimed that on the morning of May 4, a mob set fire to many nearby homes before stripping the two women naked and compelling them to walk in public on village trails.
The ex-serviceman claimed, “The cops were here, but they did nothing. I demand that everyone who set houses on fire and degraded women receive harsh punishment. Let us inform you that four persons were detained on Thursday, one day after the release of this video.
