Fortis Shalimar Bagh Hosts Equality Walkathon For Women’s Day

Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh organized an Equality Walkathon On March 8 to commemorate International Women’s Day and promote gender equality.

The event, starting at 7:00 AM and concluding by 9:00 AM, saw nearly 400 participants from diverse backgrounds raise their voices in support of equal opportunities, rights, and respect for women.

This initiative emphasized the collective commitment to fostering a gender-equal society.

The theme of the event, “Accelerating Action for Gender Equality,” was highlighted through banners and placards displaying messages that called for the elimination of gender discrimination and encouraged meaningful conversations.

As a result, the walkathon became a powerful platform for raising awareness about gender equality and inspiring action within the community.

Women Empowerment Program & Panel Discussion

Following the walkathon, Fortis Shalimar Bagh hosted a Women Empowerment Program that featured talks and activities recognizing the contributions of women across various sectors.

Delhi’s Chief Minister, Mrs. Rekha Gupta, was the chief guest and delivered the opening remarks.

Following this, a panel discussion with medical experts took place, focusing on women’s health, workplace equality, and inclusive development.

This discussion further emphasized the importance of creating a balanced and supportive environment for women in both healthcare and the workplace.

Chief Minister’s Address & Commitment To Empowerment

During the event, Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta expressed her gratitude to the Fortis management and stressed the importance of creating a strong health ecosystem in Delhi.

She emphasized that the city should emerge as a leading health center in the country, ensuring accessible healthcare for all citizens.

Echoing the government’s “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign, she stressed the need to prioritize girls’ education for overall development and good health.

Dr. Ashutosh Raghvanshi, MD & CEO of Fortis Healthcare, highlighted the invaluable role women play in healthcare and other sectors.

He spoke about overcoming systemic barriers and ensuring equal opportunities for women.
