Following recent terrorist assaults in the hilly parts of Jammu division, where terrorists ambushed security troops and carried out hit-and-run attacks, security forces have been operating at the maximum possible degree of awareness.

The Army has sent over 4,000 highly skilled soldiers from the elite commando force and those trained in mountain warfare to the Poonch, Rajouri, Did, Kathua, Reasi, and Udhampur districts of the Jammu division in response to reports that a group of 40–50 foreign mercenaries was carrying out these attacks.

The security forces are carrying out the Intelligence-based cordon and search operations in these districts almost on a daily basis to hunt down the hiding terrorists.
