Fog Alert! Bad Weather Disrupts IndiGo Flights In Nine Cities; Hampers Other Transportation Services

IndiGo Airlines faced disruptions in flight operations across nine cities, including Jaipur, Patna, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Surat, Bhopal, Udaipur, Vadodara, and Indore, due to adverse weather conditions.

IndiGo issued a travel advisory for passengers on X, communicating the impact on flights to and from Jaipur, Patna, and Amritsar due to the weather situation. The airline directed passengers to monitor their flight status through a provided link and offered assistance via direct messaging.

Meanwhile, dense fog persisted in several states, such as Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, affecting daily life and transportation services. The Northern and North-eastern regions experienced very low visibility, disrupting normal life and causing flight delays.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), as of 0830 hours IST, very dense fog prevailed over Jammu, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, West Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

Dense fog affected Delhi, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura, while moderate fog was observed over West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Manipur.

Train services to and from Delhi also faced significant disruptions due to low visibility caused by fog. Around twenty-two trains heading to Delhi from various parts of the country experienced delays owing to foggy conditions in the northern region.
