Five UP Policemen Killed In SUV Crash On KMP Expressway In Haryana’s Nuh

Five Uttar Pradesh policemen were killed in a road accident on Tuesday after the SUV they were travelling in collided with another vehicle on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Nuh district, police said. The victims were posted in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district.

The accident occurred around 10:30 AM near the Dhulawat toll plaza. The driver of the black SUV, travelling from the direction of Palwal, attempted to overtake another vehicle but lost control. This led to a collision with a vehicle ahead, officials said.

The SUV overturned after the impact and was badly damaged, trapping the occupants inside.

Tauru Sadar police station head Shish Ram Yadav stated, “All the victims killed in the accident are jawans of Uttar Pradesh Police posted in Jalaun district. We have informed the Jalaun superintendent of police and started the process to identify the victims.”

Police said an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the accident.

A patrolling staff member of the expressway said the loud noise of the collision and the dust cloud triggered panic among motorists. This forced vehicles to take evasive action and brought traffic to a halt.

An eyewitness said rescue teams, including ambulance personnel, faced difficulty retrieving bodies from the mangled SUV.

The victims were identified with the help of an identity card recovered from the vehicle. One of them was identified as sub-inspector Mohit Kumar Yadav, following which Uttar Pradesh Police was contacted.

After cranes arrived at the scene, the wreckage was cleared from the expressway to restore traffic movement, officials said.
