A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday in southeast Delhi’s New Friends Colony (NFC) area, resulting in the loss of one man’s life and injuries sustained by his two friends during a clash with another group. Law enforcement officials have disclosed that three individuals have been apprehended in relation to the occurrence, which unfolded near Kohli Park in Khizrabad around 4 pm.
The incident involved Hritik (21), a resident of an NFC house’s servant quarter, along with his companions Sonu (18) and Prashant (19), both hailing from Taimoor Nagar. The trio was en route on a motorcycle from Khizrabad to C V Raman Marg when they were halted by an unidentified man, as narrated by a senior police officer.
An altercation ensued between the unidentified man and Hritik, centred around Hritik’s previous altercation with the brother of one of the accused, Shahrukh. In a distressing turn of events, Shahrukh (21) arrived at the scene accompanied by two others, Shoaib (18) and Masoom (19). The trio attacked Hritik and his friends wielding a knife and a stick, according to the account provided by the officer.
Tragically, Hritik suffered multiple wounds on his chest, neck, and abdomen, necessitating his admission to Lion Hospital. However, his condition deteriorated, leading to his transfer to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was pronounced dead. On a more hopeful note, Sonu and Prashant suffered minor injuries and have since been discharged from medical care, the police official confirmed.
Responding promptly, a forensic team arrived at the scene of the incident and seized a bloodstained stick as evidence. In light of the gravity of the situation, a formal case has been registered. Law enforcement authorities have taken three individuals into custody in connection with the incident.
Interestingly, Hritik had been facing seven different criminal cases, one of which was filed under the Arms Act in March, as indicated by the police sources.
