Fatal Blast at Telangana Factory Claims Five Lives, Injures 10
Five workers lost their lives and ten others were injured following an explosion at a factory in Telangana’s Rangareddy district today, officials reported.
The incident took place at South Glass Private Ltd, located on the outskirts of Shadnagar town, approximately 55 km from Hyderabad.
According to authorities, the explosion occurred due to a compressor malfunction, resulting in a fire that was subsequently extinguished by firefighting personnel. Rescue operations were promptly initiated by police and firefighters.

The scene was described as harrowing, with the remains of the deceased workers scattered in the vicinity. The injured were swiftly transported to a hospital, where some are reported to be in critical condition.
Rangareddy Collector K. Shashank visited the site of the accident and indicated that initial findings suggest the blast happened due to the non-functioning of the compressor’s safety valve.
The workers affected by the tragedy are reported to hail from states such as Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.
Leaders from the All India Trade Union Congress have demanded Rs 20 lakh compensation for each family of the deceased from the management.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, currently in Delhi, has instructed officials to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care. His office stated that he has directed the Collector and various departments to focus on relief efforts.
Expressing shock over the incident, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. He urged the state government to conduct a comprehensive safety audit and review disaster management protocols across all industrial zones to prevent future accidents.
