The Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) marked the 108th Haifa Victory Day at Three-Murti Haifa Chowk in New Delhi on September 23, honouring Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the Battle of Haifa.
The ceremony opened with the National Song and floral tributes at the memorial pillars.
Dr Indresh Kumar, FANS chief patron and RSS National Executive member, said the site could become an important global pilgrimage landmark.
He also expressed hope that organisers would one day hold a major annual fair there, drawing visitors from around the world.
Kumar recalled the soldiers’ courage despite limited resources and said their role in Haifa’s liberation reflected India’s commitment to peace.
He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi renamed Three-Murti Chowk as Three-Murti Haifa Chowk in 2018. FANS has observed the commemoration annually on September 23 since then.
Political Adviser at the Israeli Embassy Nittai Ben-Haiem thanked FANS for organising the event and said India had stood by Israel during difficult times.
He described the countries as natural friends, citing their ancient civilisations, shared challenges and cooperation in science, technology, agriculture, security and strategic affairs.
FANS National Working President Lieutenant General AS Lamba said the relationship extended beyond geography, with both countries providing moral and strategic support to each other.
Punjab Kesari Chairperson and Managing Director Kiran Chopra paid tribute to the soldiers and said such events help younger generations understand their forebears’ sacrifices.
FANS National Working President Sardar Jasveer Singh delivered the opening address, while Delhi Chapter President Major General Suresh Bhattacharya gave the vote of thanks. Vaishali Bhatia conducted the proceedings.
Several public figures, academics and community representatives attended. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
