‘Ek Qaum, Ek Watan’ Conference Promotes Unity And Shared Citizenship

The Muslim Intellectual Conference at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi promoted national unity and shared citizenship under the banner of ‘Ek Qaum, Ek Watan – Hindustan’.

The conference brought together intellectuals, academicians, religious scholars, legal professionals, social workers and youth representatives. They discussed national development, social harmony and collective responsibility.

Dr Indresh Kumar presided over the event. He said the future of every community depends on the role models it chooses.

Dr Indresh Kumar urged young people to draw inspiration from former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and embrace the values of knowledge, patriotism, innovation, service, and humanity. He said India’s enduring strength lies in its unity amid diversity.

Dr Indresh Kumar called on citizens to rise above divisive politics and adopt a shared national identity rooted in constitutional values and citizenship.

Prof Shahid Akhter said India’s civilisational heritage provides a strong basis for unity. He noted that minority educational institutions serve as important instruments of inclusion in the journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

The conference also highlighted the ‘Nalanda Approach’, inspired by the spirit of the ancient university and the writings of Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd).

Speakers said India’s true strength lies in its civilisational wisdom, ethical leadership and cultural confidence.

Colonel Tahir Mustafa emphasised character building and civic values as essential pillars of national progress.

Dr Shalini Ali highlighted education, skill development, and strategic social investment as pathways to community advancement.

Mohammad Afzal reiterated the importance of shared responsibility, while Shahid Sayeed urged journalists to promote development, dialogue and social cohesion.

The gathering concluded with a reaffirmation of ‘Hindustan First, Hindustani Best’.

Participants pledged to transform ideas into action and advance nation-building through cooperation, dialogue and unity.
