Eid-ul-Fitr: President Murmu, Om Birla Convey Greetings To Citizens

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday conveyed warm felicitations to citizens on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to an official communication. She extended sincere wishes to all Indians, particularly Muslim communities residing in India and abroad.

In her message, the President emphasised that the festival, observed after the holy month of Ramadan, symbolises restraint, generosity, and empathy towards the less privileged. She noted that it promotes fraternity, peace, and social cohesion across communities.

President Droupadi Murmu urged citizens to dedicate themselves to collective welfare and assist those in need. She further encouraged strengthening unity and contributing actively to national advancement.

Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, also greeted the public. He expressed hope that the festival would usher in happiness, tranquillity, and prosperity for all, extending his ‘Eid Mubarak’ wishes.

Authorities intensified security arrangements across several regions as devotees assembled for prayers on the final day of Ramzan.

Religious leaders confirmed that Eid ul-Fitr will be observed on Saturday, as the crescent moon was not sighted on Thursday evening.

Celebrations were held earlier in Kerala. In Uttarakhand, police official Ashok Kumar Meena detailed comprehensive preparations.

Officials conducted flag marches, deployed personnel at mosques, and divided districts into sectors for surveillance. Authorities maintained vigilance against disruptive elements.

In Delhi, especially in Uttam Nagar, heavy deployment followed a High Court directive to ensure order. Measures intensified amid lingering tensions after a recent Holi-related incident.
