Education Is A Powerful Medium To Bring Social Transformation; Says Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said education plays a crucial role in bringing transformation within society.

He stated that learning not only imparts knowledge but also shapes a responsible individual.

He made these remarks while addressing the foundation day celebration of Jai Narayan Mishra Postgraduate College in Lucknow.

Sharma emphasised that academic learning must be complemented with strong moral values. He added that society should preserve cultural traditions while embracing modernisation.

Sharma noted that small corrections in the education system can create a path toward a brighter future.

He said that despite the growing commercialisation of education, certain institutions continue to uphold academic integrity and cultural values.

Dinesh praised the college for maintaining high standards and urged it to achieve an even better rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Highlighting gender progress in education, Sharma said girls are now outperforming boys in many academic fields. He described this trend as a clear example of women’s empowerment.

According to him, institutions that once reflected male dominance are gradually becoming symbols of gender equality.

The MP also stressed that society should avoid rivalry between men and women. Instead, both must contribute equally to national development.

He underlined the importance of respecting women and condemned social evils such as dowry-related violence.

Sharma further said moral education should remain an integral part of schooling. Students must learn their duties toward society and family alongside academic studies.

He also mentioned that Lucknow is expected to develop as an artificial intelligence hub in the future.

Educational institutions should therefore introduce courses aligned with emerging technologies and employment opportunities.
