Dry Weather Predicted In North India Next Few Days; AQI Likely To Be In Very Poor Category

Amid the hot and humid weather prevailing in the northern region, dry weather is predicted during the next few days. However, light isolated rainfall/snowfall is expected over Jammu, Kashmir due to the western disturbance in the region.

Scattered rain is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, with a chance of lightning.

Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh can expect scattered snow/rain.

Isolated snow/rain may occur over Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh.

Air qualities are likely to be very poor in North India and Central India. Air qualities are likely to be poor in East India, Northeast India, West India and South India.

IMD Report

A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of February 5. Under the influence of this Western Disturbance, light isolated to scattered rainfall/snowfall is very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on Feb 5 and 6 and over Uttarakhand on Monday

Meanwhile, a rise in minimum temperatures by about two degree-Celsius is expected over many parts of northwest India till Tuesday due to dry weather and no significant change thereafter.

The weather agency has predicted no significant change in minimum temperatures is very likely over many parts of central India till Sunday followed by a rise of two to three degree-Celsius for the subsequent three days and a fall by two to three Degree-Celsius thereafter.

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, The Western Disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies runs roughly along Long. 63°E to the north of Lat. 34°N. Under its influence; light isolated rainfall/snowfall very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad on 04th February.”

Moreover, the IMD said that dense fog is predicted in isolated pockets during night/morning hours over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on Sunday and Monday and over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram and Tripura on Sunday. Cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Odisha on Sunday.
