The Health Department conducted comprehensive health screenings for all officials and employees at Lok Niwas as part of the launch.

The initiative aims to strengthen efforts to identify tuberculosis cases early and improve access to timely treatment across the island territory.

Sharing details on X, Dr Dinesh Sharma said the administration had launched the initiative in response to the Prime Minister’s call for eliminating tuberculosis from the country.

He emphasised that early detection, prompt testing and regular treatment remain essential to achieving the Central Government’s target of eradicating the disease within a specified timeframe.

The programme was attended by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health), Secretary (Health), senior officials from the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat and Lok Niwas employees.
