Dr Dinesh Sharma Highlights Teachers’ Role In Nation Building, Calls For Educational Reforms

Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma said teachers play a crucial role in shaping society by nurturing future generations.

Speaking at a gathering of teachers, principals, and school management representatives in Ghaziabad in support of BJP-backed Teachers’ MLC candidate Shri Chandra Sharma, he said educators inspire both knowledge and a sense of national responsibility.

Dr Sharma said the country is witnessing a period of progress and renewal, adding that India has always been, and will continue to remain, a global leader.

He expressed confidence that the vision of a developed India by 2047 would become a reality and maintained that meaningful educational reforms have been possible under BJP governments.

Education Reforms Under BJP

Recalling his tenure as Uttar Pradesh’s Education Minister, Dr Sharma outlined several reforms implemented during the period.

These included transparent online teacher transfers, promotions, the introduction of the NCERT curriculum, timely examinations and results, retirement benefit reforms, voting rights for teachers of unaided institutions in teacher elections, and measures to ensure cheating-free examinations.

He added that the government focused on four priorities: happy teachers, quality education, stress-free students, and fair examinations, which helped improve the state’s education system and public confidence.

Dr Sharma said humility and courteous behaviour are the true qualities that make a person great.

He encouraged people to work with confidence, accept criticism as a natural consequence of progress, and remain determined in achieving their goals.

Referring to the abrogation of Article 370, he said it demonstrated that seemingly impossible tasks can be accomplished with strong resolve.

He also appealed to teachers and graduates to support BJP candidates in the forthcoming Teachers’ and Graduates’ Legislative Council elections.

Senior BJP leaders, including Sunil Sharma, Atul Garg, Mayank Goyal, Shrichand Sharma and Sanjeev Sharma, were among those present at the event.
