Dr Dinesh Sharma Highlights Scientific Basis Of Jyotish At 75th National Astrology Maha Sammelan

Rajya Sabha MP and former UP Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma on Saturday emphasised the scientific foundation of Jyotish, or Indian astrology, at the 75th National Astrology Maha Sammelan in Kanpur.

He said the calculations of Jyotish are precise and provide prior indications about a person’s life.

Dr Sharma addressed the gathering organised under the joint aegis of Padmaesh Institute of Vedic Sciences and Saumitra Dubey Foundation. He felicitated leading scholars of astrology, Ved Puranas, and astrologers from across the country.

Jyotish as a Guide to Life

Dr Sharma said astrology studies planetary and constellation positions to determine favourable and unfavourable days. He added that astrology predicts future events and guides individuals in making life decisions.

Sharma warned that while calculations can be correct or wrong, doubts about India’s traditional knowledge should be avoided.

He explained that astrology influences marriage by matching horoscopes and noted that social distortions have led to early divorces and disputes.

Additionally, he emphasised that Indian culture values sacred relationships and that modern practices such as social media-based alliances often fail due to excessive expectations.

Dr Sharma also discussed destiny using examples from mythology, including Lord Ram and Mother Sita. He explained that astrology raises awareness of life’s path and encourages living in the present.

He further stressed controlling desires, managing anger, and following righteous actions to achieve salvation and good fortune.

National Predictions and Astrological Insights

Dr Sharma highlighted astrological predictions in the national context. He said India’s growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi aligns with ancient Jyotish predictions that a leader with PM Modi’s qualities would emerge to make India comparable with America.

He further urged people to respect traditional rituals while embracing modernity.

The event was attended by Hon’ble MP Shri Ramesh Awasthi, BJP President Shri Anil Dixit, MLAs Neelima Katiyar, Surendra Maithani, Mahesh Trivedi, MLC Arun Pathak, program coordinator KM Dubey ‘Padmesh’, and eminent astrologers including Acharya Indu Prakash Mishra, Pandit Satish Sharma, Shri Ajay Bhambhi, Captain Lekhraj Sharma, Shailendra Pandey, and Sanjeev Kumar Srivastava.

Hundreds of astrologers participated, making it one of the largest gatherings in the country.
