CMD Upendrra Rai Graces Filmfare Awards Punjabi 2025; Mohali Shines With Star Power

The PCA Stadium in Mohali dazzled with lights and stars on Saturday as the Filmfare Awards Punjabi 2025 brought the biggest celebration of Punjabi cinema.

Bharat Express CMD and senior journalist Upendrra Rai attended the historic evening that showcased the cultural richness of Punjab.

The grand award night saw performances by top artists, including Yo Yo Honey Singh, Shehnaaz Gill, Satinder Sartaj, Jacqueline Fernandez, Neeru Bajwa, Maniesh Paul and Soundarya Sharma.

About 30,000 spectators filled the stadium to witness the spectacle.

Spectacle of Music and Technology

For the first time, the organisers used Xylo Bands at the event. As a result, the glowing bands lit up the entire stadium in sync with the applause and music.

In another first for India, the largest number of speakers ever was installed in a single event.

The performances created an electrifying atmosphere, highlighting the growing global presence of Punjabi cinema. Moreover, the blend of music, dance, and advanced stage technology made the evening unforgettable for the audience.

Recipients of Filmfare 2025

The recipients reflected both fresh talent and creative excellence, as the awards recognised outstanding contributions across performances, music, and technical achievements. These include:

  • Best Debut Female Award went to Pranjal Dahiya for Roz Rozi Te Gulab,
  • Best Debut Male Award went to Vishal Brar for Rode College,
  • Best Playback Singer (Male) Award went to Satinder Sartaj for Bhuliye Kive (Shayar),
  • Best Story Award went to Baldev Gill and Amar Hundal for Bibi Rajni,
  • Best Background Music Award went to Dipesh Verma for Bibi Rajni,
  • Best Dialogue Award went to Baldev Gill for Bibi Rajni,
  • Best Music Album Award went to Shayar (Beat Minister, Gagz Music, Gurmoh),
  • Best Editing Award went to Manish More for Jatt & Juliet 3,
  • Best Sound Design Award went to Parikshit Lalwani and Kunal Mehta for Warning 2,
  • Best Production Design Award went to Vijay Dulguch for Bibi Rajni,
  • Best Action Award went to Siraj Saeed for Warning 2, and
  • Best Choreography Award went to Tushar Kalia for Lehnga (Jatt & Juliet 3)

Organisers Highlight Punjabi Cinema’s Growth

Abhishek Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Force of Talent Pvt Ltd, said the evening was historic for Punjab and its artists. He further added that the preparations had been going on for months, and the emotional response reflected the pride of the Punjabi film industry.

He said such events will further boost Punjabi cinema and help its artists gain global recognition.

The Filmfare Awards Punjabi 2025 was not just about honouring talent but also about showcasing Punjab’s cultural legacy on the world stage.

The presence of Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai reinforced the importance of the event. His participation, however, highlighted how Punjabi cinema, art and culture are gaining respect and recognition at a national level.

The evening has set a milestone for the Punjabi film industry.
