Dr Dinesh Sharma Highlights Role Of Saints And Family Values At Lucknow Event

A devotional atmosphere prevailed on Sunday in Vikas Khand, Gomti Nagar, in Lucknow. The Lal Mahendra Shiv Shakti Seva Samiti (Om Namah Shivay Ashram) organised a religious discourse and a large community feast to commemorate 50 years of its service.

A significant number of devotees attended the programme.

Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma, participated as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Sharma spoke extensively about the importance of saints, Indian traditions, and family values. He further stated that moving closer to the truth naturally strengthens an individual’s self-confidence.

Dr Sharma noted that the blessings of saints extend beyond faith and can bring meaningful transformation in life. He added that saints play a crucial role in guiding society beyond divisions of caste and religion, fostering unity and mutual respect.

The Rajya Sabha MP highlighted that India is one of the world’s oldest civilisations. He said that Sanatan traditions promote respect for all forms of life, including animals, birds, and nature.

Citing an example, Dr Sharma referred to the practice of worshipping snakes as deities and offering them milk, describing it as a reflection of the inclusive nature of Indian culture.

The Rajya Sabha MP observed that despite multiple invasions in history, India’s cultural heritage has remained resilient. He underlined the importance of a guru, stating that a guru provides direction to society and brings people together.

Dr Sharma expressed concern about changing family structures in modern times. He pointed out that disputes within families are increasing and that elderly parents are sometimes compelled to move to old-age homes.

The Rajya Sabha MP further described the trend as contrary to Indian values. He stressed that caring for and respecting parents should remain a fundamental duty.

Concluding his address, Dr Sharma, however, expressed confidence in India’s continued progress. He said the country is moving steadily forward and is on track to become a developed nation by 2047.
