Double Murder Tragedy Unfolds in East Delhi: Woman, Brother Allegedly Stabbed to Death by Husband

In a tragic incident in east Delhi’s Shakarpur area, a woman and her brother were reportedly stabbed to death by her husband using a screwdriver, as confirmed by police on Wednesday.

The victims, Kamlesh Holkar (29), a school teacher from Ghaziabad, and her brother Ram Pratap Singh (18), were discovered in a pool of blood on the second floor of a residential building in Shakarpur on Wednesday morning, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta.

Initial investigations suggest that Holkar and her husband, Shreyansh Kumar Pal, engaged in an altercation on Tuesday night, leading to the fatal stabbing of both Holkar and Singh, a police official stated.

Singh, who had come from Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the birthday of the couple’s two-year-old son, was unfortunately caught in the tragic altercation, the officer added.

Pal, who was initially missing but later joined the investigation, has been taken into custody. “He is being interrogated,” said the officer.

DCP Gupta mentioned that the bodies were discovered by Holkar’s father-in-law, Rambir Singh, who resides on the ground floor of the building with his wife. He had gone upstairs to wake them up in the morning and upon finding the gruesome scene, informed the police.

The police arrived at the scene, and the bodies were sent for postmortem examination. Fortunately, the couple’s son, who was present at the flat during the incident, was unharmed, confirmed the officer.

Pal, an engineer presently unemployed, hails from a family with a background in the Indian Air Force and Delhi’s power department, with his father being a retired air force personnel and mother employed in the power sector, the officer stated. Pal’s younger brother resides on the first floor of the same building with his family.

The police are currently recording statements from all family members, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
