Don’t put English imprint on justice; by working in Hindi, justice will reach everyone: DY Chandrachud

The Chief Justice  of India Dr. Justice  Dhananjay Yashwant Chandrachud said that the aim of our education should be the welfare of all. When we talk about equality in education, the same will apply in society. Justice should not be labeled as English. Do legal work and studies in Hindi, so that justice reaches every home, every door and every heart. Every citizen of the country can understand the court order.

He was addressing the gathering as chief guest at the formal inauguration of Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University here on Friday evening as the 27th Law University of the country.He expressed hope that Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University will become a center of high level legal studies. Justice Dr. DY Chandrachud said that you all had adopted me in Allahabad.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was a great lawyer and the President of the Constituent Assembly. Dr. Rajendra Prasad laid the foundation of independent and modern India. He had allowed everyone to express their views in the Constituent Assembly, which was actually democracy. The Chief Justice said, it is a happy coincidence that I spent three and a quarter years as Chief Justice in Allahabad High Court.

Referring to some notable initiatives taken in the judicial field, Justice Chandrachud said that we have got 36 thousand Supreme Court decisions from 1950 to 2024 translated into Hindi. Its purpose is to bring law to the homes of those who do not know English. It can be implemented in every state. He said, even when I was in Allahabad High Court, most of the lawyers used to argue in Hindi.
Addressing the gathering  Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the first condition of good governance is rule of law. This is not possible without bars and benches. Prayagraj is not only the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, but is also the trinity of religion, knowledge and justice. Yogi said that the state government will run training programs for young advocates.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised Justice Chandrachud. He said that Prayagraj being the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, it is the trinity of religion, justice and education. Dr. Chandrachud’s tenure as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court has been extremely inspiring. He said that he has been influential in the judicial field as well as among the common people; it is good to make him the chief guest today.

India had implemented its Constitution on 26 January 1950 but he has done an inspiring job of tying it in the thread of unity. CM Yogi said that when the debate was going on about the preamble of India, Baba Saheb had said that we worry so much that as long as we are making a good beginning, everything will be good.

Anyway, today is off to a good start. He said that today UP has emerged as a big economy.He said that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, we are doing the work of good governance in the state, the condition of which is ‘Rule of Law’. This is not possible without bars and benches. I express my gratitude that we have received support from the judicial sector.

According to Yogi, he tells the officials that the public’s faith in democracy should not be broken, otherwise it will not take long to take to the streets. If any problem comes to the government, he will come up with the solution. He said that the government is continuously working for the young advocates. This university should work towards training the young advocates of the state

Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Arun Bhansali expressed hope that there will be better education in law from Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University. There will be better improvement by using technology along with bookish knowledge. This would prove to be a big institution in the future.

Supreme Court Justice Manoj Mishra said that Allahabad’s identity has been in politics along with education. The demand for a National Law University here was going on for a long time. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath got it completed. Its work has started by providing resources.

Earlier the Vice Chancellor of the University Usha Tandon welcomed the guest  threw light on the future action plan.
